The door is a structural opening under the code
A garage door is the largest opening in most houses, and the Florida Building Code treats it as a rated assembly with wind pressure requirements rather than a fitting. That governs product selection and the reinforcement behind it, permitted through Lakeland Community and Economic Development. Inside a mapped flood zone, elevation requirements can also reach equipment and finishes within the garage.

Confirm the rating required for your address
Citywide guidance cannot tell you the wind pressures applying to your parcel, whether the existing opening is square, or whether the header can carry a heavier assembly. Confirm the first with the city and the rest on site before ordering.
